The chip-timed 5k starts and ends at Vance Elementary School (98 Sulphur Springs, Asheville, NC 28806) and takes runners through residential streets of West Asheville.

The Comet Dash takes place on the play fields of Vance Elementary after the 5k race. There is a short kids' race, along with other fun games/events for kids. All Comet Dash finishers receive a medallion and genuine NASA mission badge!
