Hike for Hope Virtual Run or Walk

So we know some of you love to count your steps, and here's an opportunity to make every step count for a great cause! Sign-up for the 2019 Hike for Hope, then walk, run or hike 3.6 miles this December and you'll offer hope with every step! A portion of your registration fee goes directly to the Hope Center Kenya, a nonprofit center that offers hope to children and students living in an impoverished area as well as serving as a vocational training center for women transitioning out of human trafficking! You can also choose the EXTREME option and put in 36 miles and get extra swag and more! You can log your miles virtually and do your miles with friends, at the gym, or show up at one of our great meet-up events and do them as a group, or sign up your kids too and show up for the Kids Fun Run! Here's how it works:

-Register for the Virtual Run/Walk. Then you will run or walk 3.6 miles any time between December 1st and December 31st. If that sounds too easy, you can add on the EXTREME option, you will run or walk 36 miles any time between December 1st and December 31st! You can put your miles in on a treadmill at your gym, on hiking trails, on your sidewalks or city streets - anywhere you choose! We will send you details on how to sync up and track your miles or you can submit them with easy online line! So join the team, put in your steps, and make every step offer hope!

To kick off the Hike for Hope on Sunday, December 8th, kids ages 12 and under are invited to participate in the Kids Fun Run! This great family event will be held in Durham on the American Tobacco Trail, beginning and ending at newhope church (7619 Fayetteville Road, Durham, NC 27713).

This event is for children age 12 and under. Kids can walk, run, or ride scooters (no bicycles or tricycles please). Age waves will be sent at intervals to ensure safety beginning at 3:20pm. Pre-race activities will be held! All ages must be checked in by parent/guardian and ages under 10 must be accompanied by parent/guardian on the run/walk. ONLY authorized parents/guardians with certified adult race bibs will be allowed on the trail to ensure safety.

Registration is $20/child and includes event participation, official swag bag and t-shirt, finisher medal, and a portion of registration fees will be donated to support the Hope Center Kenya. Accompanying adult is free of charge, with a limit of one parent/guardian per child, and official "Kid Approved Adult" bibs will be distributed at registration and must be worn during the event on the trail. Registrations completed by November 15th will have race packages mailed. All registrations after November 15th will require packet pick-up during designated hours on the event day.
