"Steps 4 Student Success" 5K & Kids Fun Run

The "Steps 4 Students Success" 5K & Kid's Fun Run is open to all Runner's & Walkers!!!!! Tracking Chips, Race Bibs and Race Statistics will be available to the competitive runners. A race map will also be available on site, once it has been certified.

Location: Branch Brook Park, Newark, NJ (Elwood Avenue Entrance)

Race Day Schedule:
•7:30 AM | Registration & Packet Pick-up
•8:45 AM | Zumba 5K Race Warm-up
•9:00 AM | 5K race (for runners) start!
•9:15 AM | 5K race (for walkers) start!
•10:00 AM | Kid’s Fun Run (ages 12 and under) start!
•10:30 AM | Awards Ceremony
•11:30 AM | Post Race Festivities (all are invited, free to everyone!!!!!)

Registration: Online Registration before September 1st is $25 or $35 with the purchase of a T-Shirt. After September 1st, registration is $30 or $40 with the purchase of a T-Shirt. Kid’s Fun Run is $10 and includes a T-Shirt. Students (ages 13-22 w/ Student ID) are $15 or $20 with the purchase of a T-Shirt. Family Pack (2 Adult & 2 Kid’s Fun Run) is $75 and includes T-Shirts. Payments can be made via VISA, Master Card, Discover or AMEX. Event Day/On-site Registration is $35 or $45 with the purchase of a T-Shirt. Payments can be made via Cash, Check or Money Order. ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS.

Prize Categories: Age Groups (Male and Female): 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 + better! Prizes also given to all Kid’s Fun Run participants.

DIRECTIONS:
**Garden State Parkway Southbound (north of Exit 147): GSP South to Exit 147. Merge onto Parkway Drive. Left onto Park Avenue Left onto Clifton Avenue. **Left onto Elwood Avenue. Park on Elwood or any side street off of Elwood. Follow signs and volunteer direction.

**Garden State Parkway Northbound: GSP North to Exit 145 toward I-280 E. Newark/Harrison. Get off at Exit 14, MLKing Blvd (toward Broad Street/Rutgers Univ/Essex County College). Turn Left onto ML King Blvd. Turn left onto Park Ave (CR 658). Turn Right onto Clifton Ave. Follow ** above.

**Route 80 or 280 Eastbound: Proceed East on Route 280. Exit 14 (ML King Blvd) toward Broad Street Station/Rutgers University. Left onto Dr Martin Luther Jr. Boulevard. Left onto 7th Avenue. Right on Clifton Avenue FOLLOW ** above.

**NJ Turnpike Northbound or Southbound: Exit 15W. Merge onto Route 280 West toward Newark. Take Exit 14A toward Clifton Avenue. Merge onto 8th Avenue. Right onto Clifton Avenue. FOLLOW ** above.

Parking: Parking available on Elwood Avenue or any side street off of Elwood. Follow signs and volunteer direction to race area.

It is our goal to assist and support students so they may pursue their education & career goals. In an effort to assist our youth in becoming positive contributors to the community, 100 % of the proceeds will be donated for Scholarships, Stipends, Parochial/Charter School Tuition Assistance, SAT/GED Preparation and other educational fees.
