Event: The Halloween Costume 'Run for your Life' 5k Run/Walk ~ CANCELLED ~

“Those we hold most dear never truly leave us... they live on in the kindnesses they showed, the comfort they “shared, and the love they brought into our lives.”

Ashley Paul was a positive role model in her community and a shining light to all of the lives she touched. Whether she was playing sports, volunteering, or spending quality time with family and friends, Ashley thrived while helping others and consistently encouraged those around her to do the same. As a field hockey coach at the Voorhees Middle School and a girls Lacrosse coach at Voorhees Township, Ashley’s energy was contagious and her athletic spirit was motivating. She was an active alumna of the 2010 graduating class at Eastern High School, where she volunteered her free time to assist the Interact Club with their annual events.

On June 9, 2012, while vacationing with her best friend in the Poconos, Ashley was involved in a serious ATV accident. She was air lifted to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center with head trauma, where she remained in a coma for the next three weeks with her family by her side. On June 26, 2012, which was Ashley’s 20th Birthday, it was decided that she would be flown to Thomas Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, in hopes of advancing the recovery process while being surrounded by familiar voices and unconditional support. Unfortunately, just three days after her 20th birthday, Ashley passed away on June 29, 2012.

The Ashley Paul Memorial Foundation, was established in 2012 to honor Ashley’s life, her love of sports, and her desire to help others. We wish to remember her through the promotion of volunteerism and involvement in the community, which is how Ashley would have wanted her memory to live on. The goal of the Ashley Paul Memorial Foundation is to award scholarships and support teams in their desire to help within the community. The ultimate hope is that Ashley's enthusiasm for sports and her aspirations to help others will continue to shine through those who carry on her legacy.
