Brady Heart Foundation 5k and 1 Mile walk
Event details and schedule
SAME DAY REGISTRATION
There will be same day registration. We recommend that you come 90 minutes before start time to ensure that you will be registered into the system and will be issued a bib number. If you register after January 26, 2017 we cannot gaurantee that you will recieve a t-shirt or medal. That means if you register on the event day we cannot gaurantee that you will receive an awesome cool t-shirt or medal, But you will still have a great time running with the awesome people! No worries though we will do our best to accomidate and predict late registration. We understand that plans change and we hope to give you all the goodies that go with running with Brady Heart.
COURSE
We have moved parks this year. We are very excited about our new location at Kellog Zaher Park 7901 W Washington Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89128 . The course will be on a completely paved trail system that is roughly 1.5 miles. It will take 2 laps around to complete the 5k.
Packet Pick-Up
Friday February 9th 4:00pm to 7:00pm at REI in Summerlin. Located at 710 S. Rampart Las Vegas NV 89145
STROLLERS
Strollers are welcome on both courses. We ask that those that are running the 5k with a stroller, line up toward the back of the pack.
PARKING
Parking will be on a first come fiirst served basis. There will be no specified or marked parking areas. We are required to obey all traffic laws.
ATTIRE
You can wear whatever you feel is comfortable. We recommend that you wear comfortable and cool active wear designed for running. Please dress according to the winter weather. Please know that running naked is strictly prohibited. Not only is it not pretty to look at but its inconsioderate and against the law. If you are found running naked you will be removed from the course. So please DON'T DO IT!!
DON'T FORGET YOUR SHOES! It happens people. We reccomend that you wear regular running shoes trail shoes are not required. But do what you want it's your feet! If you are a barefoot runner completely disregard this paragraph altogether. But know that the rest of us wonder in awe when you run on rocks.
IPODS
iPods and other devices with earbuds are permitted on the course however we recommend that you keep one ear bud out of one ear for safety purposes.
EVENT SCHEDULE
Bib pick up/check in will be on 2/09/16 from 2:00-6:30pm Place of pick up is TBA.
If you cannot be present for packet pickup on 2/09/16 you can send another person to check in for you provided they have a copy or your current ID or email confirmation or you can check in on race day.
You can check in 1 hour before start time but we recommend that you pick up your packet and check in the night before. This will help with the ease of the event for our volunteers and for you. This will also ensure our runners have a smoother and more pleasant experience. But we understand that sometimes that just doesn't work out for everyone. Don't be discouraged come when you can but don't be late on race day! If you register on the day of the race you MUST check in no later than 8:30 am to secure a spot to run.

for first male and female to cross the finish line for the 5k
TIMING
The 5k race will be timed. There will be a bib timer. We ask that all participants wear their bibs on their front where it is fully visible. Do not bend or cover your bib as this may cause the bib's chip receiver to malfunction.
The 1 mile walk will not be timed
AWARDS
All participants of the 5k will receive a finishers medal. There will be a special prize given to the first female and first male finisher of the 5k. There will also be an award given to the captain that builds the biggest team. There will also be an award for the captain that raises the most donations.
Awards ceremony will begin at 9:45 am
1 MILE
1 Mile walk is free and there is no registration required. Just show up and walk for heart disease!
Raffle
There will be a raffle held during the race. Many of our generous sponsors have donated goods and services for the raffle. The raffle will be open to any one that has registered, volunteers, and spectators of the event. Some prizes will be awarded after the finish of the 5k and some will remain open until the end of February. Only prizes that will be awarded at the race require attendants to be present to win. Raffle tickets will cost $1.00. All proceeds earned from the raffle will be donated to Brady Heart Foundation for charitable purposes.
TEAM CAPTAIN CONTEST
Here at Brady heart Foundation we believe the cliche, "the more the merrier." And if you can get your friends and family to come run we believe you should be rewarded. Therefore if you choose to captain a team and you create the largest team you will win a big prize for your amazing efforts. There will also be a prize for the team captain that raises the most in donations. Get out there and start recruiting your, family, friends, neighbors and even strangers!
SPECIAL NOTICE
The Brady Heart Foundation partners with a group called Red Thumbs For Women. During the month of February, which is heart health awareness month, Red Thumbs For Women spreads the word about heart disease by encouraging men and women to paint one thumb nail red. Since we are partners in trying to create awareness and education about heart disease any runner that checks in with a red thumb will get a special free prize and 5 free raffle entries. Don't forget to post a picture on social media with #redthumbsforwomen and #brady5kvegas #GoRedThumb

5k Virtual
This is the best kind of race. The kind of race you can do in your own back yard. All you need to do is record your run with a GPS devise such as a watch, FitBit, Phone or the like. Then E-mail your result erinc@bradyheart.org and we will mail you your medal. It's as simple as that. Good Luck!
