Westchester Road Runner NYC Marathon Bus

Sun November 5, 2023 White Plains, NY 10601 US

Event: NYCBus

Relax. That is our word of wisdom. We've done this for years. We know how nervous and excited you are. We have a few rodeos under our belt. We will get you down to the start with plenty of time to sit around and wait for your wave to commence.

Once you sign up, CHECK YOUR EMAIL!!!! There will be a confirmation sent to you. Look in spam because it goes there sometimes. Stupid spam folder.

Once you have the confirmation email, you're all set. No need for ID, blood screening, magic dance or anything like that to get on the bus. Just show up, remember your name and find a seat. If you are going to try to sneak on the bus, then once it is found out, we will go medieval on your ass. (Meaning you wil have to live in a hut with no running water and till the soil for the rest of your life.)

There are three separate pick up points. You do not have to specify which spot you are choosing, just be there on time. We will welcome you happily at whichever is most convenient, just be there on time. Please don't make the buses wait for you, just be there on time. (Sensing a theme?)

The three departure points are:

5:30 am at Westchester Road Runner.
179 East Post Road
White Plains, NY 10601

This spot is the only one that you are allowed to leave your car
parked. This is new from previous years. Unfortunately, this means that if you have to park and leave a car, you have to pay to
for a spot in the Lyons Place parking garage located by the store for the day. (People have played the chance game and parked in the street which is free on Sunday at 6AM but there's no guarantee)

5:45 am at the Doubletree Hotel
455 South Broadway
Tarrytown, NY 10591

Parking is not allowed here. You must be dropped off.

6:00 am at the Burger King,
826 Central Park Avenue
Yonkers, NY 10704
(Southbound service road of I-87/ opposite
the Cross County Shopping Center)

Parking is not allowed here. You must be dropped off.

We will drop you off as close to the start as we are allowed by the NYRR and the NYPD. We do not have control over this at all!!! Last year, we hit the drop off lotto and hit no traffic whatsoever. That is not the norm. Think of how many people will be around you when you were running? They all have to get to the same place around the same time. You will most likely have to walk a bit to the entrance of Fort Wadsworth, but so is everyone else. Just hop in line and follow the other runner-ish looking people dressed in an array of odd outfits.

You will be there in plenty of time for getting to your wave and preparing to race. Even the first wave people. Barring something out of our hands like an attack from Godzilla or similar type monster, we will get you there with time aplenty. And if Godzilla does appear, we will still get you there in time.

For those that insist about a time, if we could predict that, we are in the wrong business. Typically, we kick you off the bus around 7:45-8:00 AM. More then enough time to get to the Fort and relax before the cannon booms. You aren't alone. You'll have your bus friends and tens of thousands of others joining you.

There is a bathroom on the bus. Use it sparingly. It is not your home and others may have to utilize it.

We are offering a bag check to anyone purchasing a ticket for the bus. We are allowing ONE bag per passenger. We request that you put a tag with your name and phone number on it for identification. There will be no access to the bags after you leave the bus. Once you enter the Fort, that’s it. You’ve committed. We request that you do not bring anything of value. The bags will be on a bus, however we will not be responsible for the bags or the contents. We will do our best to safeguard them. The bags will be available by 5pm at the meeting point for the bus. Any bags not picked up will be available at Westchester Road Runner, 179 East Post Road, White Plains, starting Monday, Nov. 7th. The bags will be held for one week. After a week, we sell everything on Ebay as items used by famous people.

There will be ONE bus returning from the city at 5 PM. That is it. It cannot leave early or wait beyond that. Please do not try to coerce, bribe or seduce the driver. The plan as of now, is that we will find a spot somewhere between W. 77th St. and W. 81st St. on CPW. Those are the NYRR designated areas. Yes, we realize that it is a big area but that is all we are given by NYRR. You will receive a text that morning where the bus is parked.

That bus will then take anyone on it to the stop-off spots in reverse order, (but not in reverse because it's hard to drive those buses backwards) ending back at the store. Once that happens, the day is over as far as we are concerned.

The bus is usually available for runners around 3-4pm It will stop at each of the departure spots in reverse order. It is free for family members to join on the way back if they'd like, provided there is space (there usually is plenty).

This is every piece of info that you could use and some that you have no need for. But we want to make this as seamless as possible. You have all sacrificed so much and worked so hard, that Marathon Sunday should be all about fun and enjoyment, mixed with a lot of running. It's gonna be a blasty blast for everyone, as long as you come into it with a positive energy.

A full refund, minus the processing fee, is available up to Saturday, September 23rd at 11:59:59 PM. One second later, at 12:00 AM on Sunday, September 24th and unfortunately there are no refunds available.  Go to the Refund Policy at the top of the page to start the process.
