Westchester Road Runner NYC Marathon Bus

NYCBus

If you're reading this, then you are obviously curious about something. We all know curiosity killed the cat, but I've seen my cats do some stupid things and I'm not sure how they are still alive.
This curiosity will not harm you in any way. It will open your eyes to the magic of the WESTCHESTER ROAD RUNNER NYC MARATHON BUS!!!

For those on last years bus, you understand our propensity for magic since we stuffed 150 runners into not 150 spaces. And nary a runner was lost or maimed in the process. Unlike the lady in the box that gets sawed in half. And like Mark Messier in Game 6 vs the Devils in 1994, we guarantee that will not happen again. All will have seats, unless you voluntarily sit on someone else's lap. But that's on you and the lappee.

The following drivel, is not drivel at all, but actual information. Please read it. Because I'm old and curmudgeonly and don't like repeating myself.

I will give you a shortcut tho if you still refuse to read. There is only one new piece of information. And that is, there is

NO RETURN BUS OR BAG DROP THIS YEAR.

We repeat

NO RETURN BUS OR BAG DROP!!!

Which also means there is no bag drop available. When we polled the group, the majority went with it being not necessary and NYRR can still be pretty tough in finding us spots. So we made the decision to go with only the one way trip. For those that this effects, we do apologize for the inconvenience but a tough decision had to be made.

And before we get lambasted and bombarded regarding the price not changing, for all these years, the price has always been for one way and we ate the cost for keeping the bus all day.

Now for the vital stuff:

There are three separate pick up points. You do not have to specify which spot you are choosing, just be there on time. We will welcome you happily at whichever is most convenient, just be there on time. Please don't make the buses wait for you, just be there on time. (Sensing a theme?)

The three departure points are:

5:30 am at Westchester Road Runner.
179 East Post Road
White Plains, NY 10601

This spot is the only one that you are allowed to leave your car
parked. This is new from previous years. Unfortunately, this means that if you have to park and leave a car, you have to pay to
for a spot in the Lyons Place parking garage located by the store for the day. (People have played the chance game and parked in the street which is free on Sunday at 6AM but there's no guarantee)

5:45 am at the Doubletree Hotel
455 South Broadway
Tarrytown, NY 10591

Parking is not allowed here. You must be dropped off.

6:00 am at the Burger King,
826 Central Park Avenue
Yonkers, NY 10704
(Southbound service road of I-87/ opposite
the Cross County Shopping Center)

Parking is not allowed here. You must be dropped off.

We will drop you off as close to the start as we are allowed by the NYRR and the NYPD. We do not have control over this at all!!! Last year they tried a new set-up for the drop off, and it seemed to work great. I'm assuming (yes, I know what that often means) it will be the same. The stroll was quick and painless to the Fort after we banished you from the bus, and I anticipate the same this year.

You will be there in plenty of time for getting to your wave and preparing to race. Even the first wave people. If the bus breaks down, we have a team of sled llamas prepared to hook up and pull the buses. (Sled dogs were not available)

For those that insist about a time, if we could predict that, we are in the wrong business. Typically, we kick you off the bus around 7:45-8:00 AM. More then enough time to get to the Fort and relax before the cannon booms. You aren't alone. You'll have your bus friends and tens of thousands of others joining you.

There is a bathroom on the bus. Use it sparingly. It is not your home and others may have to utilize it.

This is every piece of info that you could use and some that you have no need for. But we want to make this as seamless as possible. You have all sacrificed so much and worked so hard, that Marathon Sunday should be all about fun and enjoyment, mixed with a lot of running. It's gonna be a blasty blast for everyone, as long as you come into it with a positive energy.

A full refund, minus the processing fee, is available up to Saturday, September 21st at 11:59:59 PM. One second later, at 12:00 AM on Sunday, September 22nd and unfortunately there are no refunds available.  Go to the Refund Policy at the top of the page to start the process.
