Event: John Glenn Friendship 7 Miler
RACE INFO: Join us Saturday, July 9th for The Friendship 7 Miler!
This event will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Friendship 7 mission by John Glenn. The race is being held in conjunction with the New Concord Fireman's Festival, so plan to stay and enjoy the parade, food, festivities, Fireman's Raffle & fireworks!
**All proceeds support the John Glenn XC and T&F programs**
RACE COURSE: The race is a point-to-point race. Starting at the Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center in Cambridge, John Glenn's
birthplace. It will follow the Glenn Hwy (St. Rt. 40) west finishing in New Concord near his childhood home, now the
John and Annie Glenn Museum. This is a closed course, with one big climb and a few rolling hills.
*Walkers are welcome - Dues to road closer limits, all participants will be required to maintain a 15 min. per mile pace.
If you cannot make it and still want to participate, sign up for the Virtual Run Option.
PARKING AND BUS SHUTTLES: Parking for this event will be at the Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center near Check-in and the
Start line. A shuttle bus will be provided from New Concord (Finish line) back to the Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center.
AWARDS: Awards will be given to the top three overall finishers and in each of the following age categories: male & female divisions
14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
EARLY PACKET PICK-UP & RACE DAY Pick Up: Early packet pick-up will be held at John Glenn High School (front lobby) from 5-8pm on Friday, July 8th. THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION! Packet pick-up will be at the Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center -7033 Glenn Hwy, Cambridge, OH US 43725 - starting at 6:00am
The first 250 participants are guaranteed a Race T-shirt.
Extra t-shirts will be first come first serve on race day.
ENTRY FEES: (non-refundable)
7 Miler $35 - through June 15th – Late Entry $40 through June 16th-July 6th at Midnight.
Virtual Run $40 - Includes Race Shirt and Shipping
