12 HOUR
Teams are provided a set of topographical maps with Checkpoint (CP) locations plotted. You will know you've found a CP by the bright orange flag.
All participants will be transported by Shuttle Bus from the Race Headquarters to the Race Start. The race is divided into four stages. Some strategic decision making is required. Teams must return to the finish line before the race cutoff time.
Details of the course are withheld until a designated time prior to the race Start.
Racers can expect total Paddling between 9-12 miles, Bike between 25-35 miles and Hike on foot 15-18 miles. Biking will be on paved road, some MTB trail, and a little in-between. It is common for teams to choose to shorten a section of the course in favor of focusing on other sections.
Paddling will be on a river. Plan accordingly for safety and warmth. A dry suit is not required gear, but may be helpful depending on conditions. Boat rentals include canoe paddles and PFDs. However you may bring your own gear to use instead. Please view the video linked from our website titled: "River Hazards and Safety on the Water While Canoeing" https://youtu.be/iLhYsLL4Dgc
Water Stations will be available.
A detailed information packet will be distributed to all participants prior to the race.
