5K Trail Run & Walk

Our trail race is a challenging run that takes you around our 1100 rolling acres of Harrison County, along the shores of Lake Clendening, utilizing wooded hiking trails, single track and open fields that have been used by campers since 1958! The route is about 98% off-road. Participants will receive unique camp-related shirts (*shirt not guaranteed if registering after 9/4/16), swag and finisher’s medals!

The camp’s activity areas are the highlights of the 5K. The Main Lodge is the backdrop of the starting line. Racers will run Thunder Mountain Nature Trail, by the horse stables, down Fire Fox Ridge, by the waterfront and swimming area, and Chapel Rock. Bear Cave Trail takes you past Counselor Point, and then connects to beautiful Sassafras Pass, through the cabins of the West Village, and past the archery range. Participants finish near the pavilion, where runners will enjoy refueling snacks and hydration, and the award presentation (standard OCS age-groups, and overall awards.)
