The Uprising 5K and 1.31 Mile Walk for Autism

The 5K winds through the heart of West Chester on a scenic, community-friendly course that showcases the charm of the borough. The route is accessible, clearly marked, and lined with enthusiastic volunteers and safety personnel to keep you supported, safe, and motivated from start to finish.

The 1.31-mile walk is a powerful symbol, representing the 1 in 31 individuals born with autism each year. Every step we take together helps raise awareness, foster acceptance, and provide resources for individuals and families within the autism and ID/D community.

Young runners and walkers, this one's for you! The Uprising 5K Run & 1.31 Mile Walk welcomes kids ages 4-12 to join the movement for autism and ID/D awareness. Whether they’re running the 5K or walking the meaningful 1.31-mile course (representing 1 in 31 individuals born with autism), kids of all abilities are encouraged to participate, have fun, and be part of something bigger!

Can’t make it to the event in person? Join the Uprising 5K or 1.31 Mile Walk for Autism virtually from anywhere! Complete your race on your own course, at your own pace, while still supporting EmpowerU’s mission to improve the lives of individuals with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities through exercise and wellness.

Participants will receive an official race shirt and finisher medal, which will be mailed directly to you after the event.

Support the Uprising 5K or 1.31 Mile Walk for Autism from wherever you are by joining our virtual race option. Complete either the 5K run or the 1.31 mile walk on your own course and at your own pace.

This option includes race participation only and does not include a shirt or medal, but your registration still helps support EmpowerU programs for individuals with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities.
