The 5-Miler (8K) distance serves as the official RRCA Texas State Championship event. Championship results will be scored based on verified 5-mile splits taken from athletes competing in the 10K and 10 Mile races. RUCK DIVISION REQUIREMENTS
Required Gear:
Rucksack with reflective elements (GORUCK Rucker recommended, but any rucksack acceptable)
Weight Requirements:
Men: 20 lb (9.1 kg)
Women: 10 lb (4.5 kg)
Weights must be placed high in the rucksack, close to your back. Other requirements:
-Hydration system
-Trail-appropriate footwear
-Weather-appropriate clothing
Important Notes:
Weight requirements are dry weights (water, food, and additional gear don't count)
Weight checks conducted at start and finish
Equivalent weights (e.g., weight vest plates) acceptable if properly secured
Safety is paramount - proper packing required
