TRAVERSE MTB Solo
Solo categories are male and female.
Default accommodation for solo category racers is sharing a 2-person tent for the duration of the event. Solo accommodation is an optional add-on during the registration process.
Price is per cyclist, all-inclusive of transport, accommodation, food and drink.
---- The Event ----
TRAVERSE MTB offers a prologue and four stages of varied terrain, amazing scenery, and wildlife viewing. The course is raceable by the experienced, challenging to adventurers, and rewarding for all.
But would-be participants should know TRAVERSE is a true backcountry race adventure. The race takes place on double track safari roads, fast single track, and technical single track. Cyclists encounter stones, rock, sand, thorns, wildlife and more thorns.
Although our time cutoffs are lenient enough for most anyone to finish, you should know north Tanzania’s geography, flora and fauna — while spectacular to witness — are also formidable obstacles with which to contend.
Our MTB single track is not designed for bicycles; rather, it was constructed by donkeys and wild animals, for donkeys and wild animals. You likely will fall, absolutely will bleed, and most certainly will carry your bicycle.
We don’t say this to scare potential riders away (ahem, perhaps we do), but rather to encourage you to consider our event as more than a test of skill.
TRAVERSE MTB is an examination of your resilience and determination.

TRAVERSE RUN RECCE Solo
*Note: We are organizing our 2025 TRAVERSE RUN RECCE as a final test of concept, prior to officially launching in 2026. To thank you for agreeing to provide feedback on the course and to help us produce media content, we are offering entry at more than 40% off the 2026 price. This is the same great experience, but in an exceptionally lenient and laid back way. Think of it as camping and running for a week with a group of your closest friends.
Solo categories are male and female.
Default accommodation for solo category racers is sharing a 2-person tent for the duration of the event. Solo accommodation is an optional add-on during the registration process.
Price is per runner, all-inclusive of transport, accommodation, food and drink.
---- The Event ----
TRAVERSE RUN offers five stages of varied terrain, amazing scenery, and wildlife viewing. The course is raceable by the experienced, challenging to adventurers, and rewarding for all. The race takes place on fast single track, slow and technical single track, and double track safari roads.
Although our time cutoffs are lenient enough for most participants to finish, you should be aware that north Tanzania’s geography, flora and fauna — while spectacular to witness — are also formidable obstacles with which to contend. Runners will encounter challenging terrain, high elevations, thorns, wildlife and more thorns.
Though our food is both delicious and plenty, TRAVERSE is not a local Thanksgiving Trot.
