What is included with my registration?
Your registration fee includes ride entry, Pedal for Alzheimer’s t-shirt, access to ride routes on RidewithGPS.com, swag bag, a pre-ride breakfast items, fully stocked aid stations, support vehicles and riders on-course, and a picnic lunch at the completion of your ride for 20 & 40-mile riders, or on course for 65 & 100-mile riders.

How much does The Longest Day Ride cost?
Registration fee $50 through June 19, 2019 at 5:00 PM. Same day registration $75.

Transfer, Withdraw, Refund
Like any event, once a registration is purchased, that money goes to work bringing you a great experience, permits for the course, insurance for the course, purchasing supplies/materials, and paying for the crew. Therefore, we do not offer refunds.

Advance Packet Pick Up
Please make every effort to pick up your packet on June 21st at Bingham Cyclery, 336 Broadway in Salt Lake City, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Friends and family members can pick up your packet with a copy of your photo ID.

Where do I park?
Parking is available at the Utah State Agriculture building adjacent to the start/finish at Cottonwood Park or on the street nearby.

Course Maps
Courses are out-and-back with aid, rest & refreshment stations along the way.

It is important to note, the course maps currently published are subject to change. Road construction and other challenges may affect the route. The details of these projects, and how or if they will affect the currently planned course will be clearer as the event nears. Route detours may be necessary. It is recommended that you check the course again the week prior to The Longest Day Ride.

Course Signs
As you ride the course, look for directional markers on the road surface, as well as signs on corners and at turns. Feed zones and turnaround points will also be identified.

What time should I arrive?
If you pre-registered through RunSignup and picked up your packet from Bingham Cyclery on June 21st, please arrive at least a half hour before your start time. This will give you time to pump up your tires, fill your water bottles, use the restroom, and be ready to ride at your start time.

Come earlier if you’d like coffee, juice and bagels.

If you have not pre-registered, please come one hour before your start time. Same-day registration $75

Can I ride earlier than my start time?
Riders will be able to leave starting at 7:00AM beginning with century riders. If you’re in a later wave and choose to depart early, please note that lunch and finish line goodies will probably be unavailable to you.


Where do I find my ride time?
The Longest Day Ride is non-competitive, and as such does not provide finish times for riders. If you want to know your speed on race day, please use a personal fitness device.


Where are the restrooms?
There will be temporary restrooms at the Cottonwood Park start/finish. Most aid stations along the course are located at parks with public restrooms.


Tell me about the T-shirt I receive with my registration.
Each registration includes a 100% cotton Pedal for Alzheimer’s t-shirt. You will select your size when registering on the RunSignup site [here].


What if I need help? Have a flat? Broken chain? Tired bum or legs? And what is SAG?
The phone number for dispatch will be printed on your bib. Give them a call and we will send a Support Crew Rider or SAG vehicle to rescue you. Support Crew Riders are on bikes and provide help along the way. SAG vehicles will be on course with food, mechanics, and limited repair equipment. They may also pick up riders unable to continue.

Tell me about the stops I’ll find on course.
Distance between stops will is between 9 and 13 miles.

Aid Stations
Riders can eat, drink, refill water bottles, dispose of garbage, rest, and use public restrooms located in the park nearby. Standard nutrition may includes fresh fruit, Swedish fish, Wheat Thins, pretzels, Fig Newtons, Oreos, licorice, water and CarboRocket electrolyte drink.

Lunch Stop
Riders can sit, eat a picnic lunch (sandwiches, fruit, chips, cookies, etc.), refill their water bottles, throw garbage away, and use the public park. On-course lunch stop is at the 33 and 71 mile markers.

Will roads be closed?
We do not close roads for our ride. You are a vehicle on the road. Please obey traffic laws, signs and signals. Ride safely!

Age/Equipment Limitations & Requirements
The Longest Day Ride is open to anyone who can finish the course in the allotted amount of time, and under their own power before the course sections close at 5:00 PM. Not recommended for children under 8. Helmets are mandatory. Please carry spare tubes, water bottles, a patch kit, and pump with you during the ride. Sunscreen and SPF lip balm are strongly recommended.

Be certain your bike is mechanically sound. A tune up before the ride is recommended if your bike has not been serviced in a while.

Road bikes, mountain bikes, beach cruisers, tandem bikes (buy two ride entries), recumbent bikes, are all welcome! Aerobars are NOT allowed. Children’s bike trailers are NOT allowed. Headphones/earbuds are NOT allowed.

Trash and Recycling
There will be trash and recycling bins at all feed zones, water stops, and at the start/finish lines.. Please discard trash in the appropriate container. We need your help to keep The Longest Day course tidy throughout the event. Cyclists who are seen littering will be asked to leave the course.

Food
The Longest Day Ride will have light breakfast items, coffee and juice starting at 6:30 AM. A picnic sandwich lunch will be served on-course for the 65 and 100 mile riders, or back at the start/finish line for the 20 and 40 mile riders beginning at 11:00 AM.
