Event: Mill Mountain Mayhem 10k
This event has been voted the most loved Mountain Junkies race (it was voted most hated too). This is a great race on a tough mountain and perfect training for the week before the Blue Ridge Marathon.
Mill Mountain is Roanoke's most visible landmark and any activity on the mountain will require some climbing. You've got to get up to the top to enjoy the scenery and/or the blazing fast downhills.

Event: Trail Nut Races

Event: Trail Nut 10k
Falling Creek Park is one of Bedford County's treasures. We were first introduced to the park during one of the Virginia Derailer mountain bike races. Since then I have been amazed at how the park continually changes. It is a family park, with a playground, pavilions, paved path, Frisbee golf, fitness circuit, shuffle board, bird watching trails, mountain bike trails, and pump track (get maps and trail info at Bedford Trails).

It is loaded with over 9 miles of intermediate rolling, twisty, single track in a beautiful wooded setting. It isn’t uncommon to see wildlife during one of your trips to the park (turtles, raccoons, rabbits, ground hogs, the occasional skunk, and deer).

Directions to the Park - See webpage for more detailed directions and race updates - http://mountainjunkies.net/site/trail-nut-10k-half-marathon/

Event: Conquer the Cove 25k
What better way to take a trail tour of Roanoke City's largest trail system than by running the Conquer the Cove. This is THE event. If you are from Roanoke it gives you a chance to compete against the hometown folks to see who's top dog. If you aren't from Roanoke it gives you the chance to see 80% of the trails of the park that will be well marked and maintained. This is the anchor event to the Roanoke Non Ultra Trail Series (RNUTS) and it has it all; great challenging course, beautiful venue, great aid stations and post race food, and a relaxing atmosphere to hang out in after the race.
