2022 West River Trail Run

11 Miles of Trouble is our signature trail race. Starting at the South Londonderry Depot the course follows the West River for 11 miles, finishing in Jamaica State Park. The old railroad track makes for flat, woodsy terrain for the first 4 miles. Hitting the Winhall Campground around 4.5 miles, you'll travel for 1 mile on the campground road, across the bridge to the opposite side of the West River. After pushing through the campground you'll rejoin the railroad track through the woods. Watch your step with rocks, trees and leaves! Don't forget to look up as you pass through Angel Falls! Traverse through the woods, up, up, up to meet Ball Mountain Dam around mile 8. Less than 3 miles to go after the switchbacks down the dam. Enjoy the last few miles, on the old railroad track once more to finish the run at Jamaica State Park!

3-Leg Relay: The first runner will start at the South Londonderry Depot, run on the old railroad track, and woodsy terrain for the first 4 miles. They will meet their second team member at the Winhall Campground water stop. The second runner will take over running from the end of the campground all the way to Ball Mountain Dam. They will enjoy a smooth run through the woods and across Angel Falls. The third, and final runner, will start out hard taking on the switchbacks of the Ball Mountain Dam. They will finish the last miles on the old railroad tracks and into Jamaica State Park!

The 5k is an out and back starting in Jamaica State Park. Participants will enjoy the woodsy scenery following the West River to their turnaround point. Listen for the cheers from the water stop volunteers and get ready to book it back!
