About Our Cause
For more than 75 years, Father Joe's Villages has helped neighbors experiencing homelessness reclaim stability, dignity, and hope. Today, as the largest and most comprehensive homeless services provider in San Diego, we serve more than 12,000 individuals each year through housing, healthcare, behavioral health care, employment services, and a full continuum of supportive programs designed to end homelessness.
This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Father Joe's Villages Thanksgiving Day 5K—a San Diego tradition that has brought our community together for a quarter century to make a meaningful difference. Every step taken, every dollar raised, and every participant who joins us helps ensure that our neighbors have access to nutritious meals and compassionate care when they need it most.
Proceeds from the Thanksgiving Day 5K directly support Father Joe's Villages' Food Services Program, providing hot, nutritious meals to individuals and families experiencing homelessness and food insecurity throughout San Diego. For many of our neighbors, these meals are more than nourishment—they are a first step toward hope, connection, and a path to lasting stability.
As we celebrate 25 years of running for a cause, we invite you to be part of this remarkable tradition. Whether you're running, walking, rolling, fundraising, volunteering, or cheering from the sidelines, your participation helps create brighter futures and brings us one step closer to ending homelessness, one life at a time.
