The Everything's Fine Turkey Trot Virtual 5k/10k is a virtual 5k and 10k running event, unlike any other. This is no ordinary Turkey Trot. We've given it a fun 2020 twist. Please read this page carefully to understand more about how we are conducting this virtual event. There will be fun challenges during the week leading up to race weekend, so you can shave a few seconds off your run time.
There is a designed race weekend (extended for the Thanksgiving Holiday) for you to complete your 5k or 10k. The race window is the Holiday Weekend of November 26 - November 29 (2020). You may run your race and post it in the below mentioned FB Group any time from 12:01am Eastern time Thursday November 26th to 11:59pm Eastern time Sunday November 29th. If for some reason you cannot or do not wish to run during the designated race weekend, that is OK. You will still receive your medal, but you will not be eligible for age group awards (engraved placard on your medal) or to be included in the "official" finisher times posted after the race weekend ends.
As soon as you register (or, if you are going to register in the future), request to join the event's private Facebook Group for access to important race related content and information, posting of your proof of time/distance run during the race weekend, as well as access to posts regarding challenges (to shave a few seconds off your run time) that will take place each day during the week prior to race weekend. Here is the Facebook Group link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/880518105739882/
TIMEKEEPING: Race timing will operate on the honor system. Given the unique nature of each runner's situation, we will accept postings in the Facebook group of proof of completed 5k or 10k during the race weekend as stated above. This is the ONLY way your run time/distance proof will be accepted. Please do not PM, call, text, or email it to the Race Director. The Race Director will monitor for posts throughout the race weekend, and approve them as they come in. Examples: Treadmill runners may post a picture of their treadmill console. Or, phone app users may screenshot their completed run on their phone app and post the picture. Or, runners using a watch may snap a pic of their watch-face and post it. You may run in any way that is safe, legal, and ethical in your area. This may be on a treadmill, trail, sidewalk, laps around your house, laps inside your house, etc. It is entirely the runner's choice, and each runner is responsible for maintaining their own safety and social distancing and following all their own local laws, directives, regulations, etc. We encourage you to include race day selfies in your posts. PLEASE NOTE VERY IMPORTANT: If your Facebook name is different from the name on your registration, you MUST include your registered name on your post.
Pricing includes shipping as quoted by our shipper as of May, 2020, and the registration links are configured for shipping costs within the Continental United States (CONUS) OR Canada only at this time. Please register for your location. Please note - Shipping is via USPS. There have been a few rumors in the news about the USPS having financial and slow delivery issues due to the COVID19 related shutdown. It seems highly unlikely our event's shipping will be affected. BUT, if it is, and changes out of our control must be made to shipping, all runners will be notified via email. CANADIAN runners: Please note. We have been shipping for our other races to Canada since March, and it is taking at least a month.
Registered Runners will receive:
Our awesome custom medal! (4 inches tall!)
Engraving of your time and placement (for age group winners only, 3 deep, 5k and 10k)!
Not to mention, fun challenges all week long leading up to race weekend, to help you shave a few seconds off your run time!
