Can you run or walk a 5k every day for 31 days?! What about a combination of running walking, biking, kayaking....are you up for the challenge? Let's do this.
Starting May 1st we will all walk or run 3.1 miles every day for the entire month. That's just over 96 miles total! You can do more per day but you can't do less. You must log your 5k each day...accountability people!! There is also an option for a multi-sport 5k a day. You can choose a different activity every day, you just have to be sure to get in 3.1 miles of that chosen activity every day! Bike, kayak, roller blade, run, etc. No motors please!
This is meant to be challenging. To take you out of your comfort zone. That's where growth and sense of accomplishment happens. There will be days you don't want to do it or you "don't have time". But you do it anyways because you can do hard things.
Once you complete the challenge you will receive a beautiful handmade wooden plaque (see pic below) and a 5k x 31 sticker for your car or wherever you choose to stick it. At the beginning of the challenge you will be invited to join the Facebook group where you can post pictures of where you're doing your 5k and you can reach out if you need some extra motivation and provide encouragement and motivation to others.
Starting May 1st you'll come to the Runsignup webpage and click on "Results" to submit your daily mileage. The goal is to get 5k a day, this isn't a challenge of who can get the most mileage in a month. There are other challenges for that. Also please don't count your daily steps towards your goal. Be intentional with the challenge and go out for a walk, run, bike, paddle, etc! You can even break it up into 2 activities in a day if that's better for your schedule.
