Description

Who's up for a challenge?! We're going to ride with the pros, in France. Sort of.

The Tour De France starts August 29th and lasts 23 days. Since we will all need a bit more time to cover the 2,100+ miles, we will start July 1st and end the same day as the Tour, September 20th.

Registration includes a t-shirt with the event logo on the front and all the stages listed on the bike. You'll also receive a finishers medal (sign up by 8/1 to ensure a medal) and a permanent marker to mark off your completed stages on the back of the shirt. Visit the facebook event page to keep up with updates and see pictures of the shirts and medals (coming soon).

There are 22 stages in the TDF, each of them with varying distance and elevation. We are going to just focus on covering the distance and not factor in the elevation. Cover as many stages as you can in 81 days! How many people will finish? It will be hard but not impossible. See below for the stage distances. **You do not need to complete stages all at once. Your completion is based on cumulative mileage. For instance, if you get in 100 total miles the first week then you have completed and passed stage 1. So just get out here as much as you can, even if it's for a 10 mile ride, it adds up!

Seem too overwhelming to tackle by yourself! Do it as a team! You and one friend will conquer the distance together. You don't have to ride together, you'll just each log mileage to go towards the total!

I'll keep the Facebook event page updated as the Tour moves into different regions and stages. It will be fun to follow along and pretend as if we're there with them.

You will log all of your mileage through Runsignup. Preferable you will keep up with this daily but you can log in anytime and log mileage if you miss a day or two. The more up to date and accurate it is the more fun it is to follow the leaderboard! Keep your mileage proof so you can send it to me if I request it.

At the end, all registered riders will receive a shirt, a logo'd permanent marker and a finishers medal. You will use the marker to check off how many stages you completed on the back of your shirt. The stages must be completed in order, you can't jump around.
