Description

Welcome to our Virtual 5K for the Black Lives Matter movement. This event is organized by a group of Osteopathic medical students. Over the course of the past couple of weeks, we have become more cognizant of the injustices in our community and disparities within the U.S. healthcare system. We are hosting this Virtual 5K in an effort to not only raise awareness and promote an active lifestyle, but to also ask people to take action by giving their time and donating to fight these injustices.

Registration begins June 6, 2020. The virtual 5K will be held between June 15, 2020 -- June 30, 2020.

The registration fee is $7. With registering, there is also an opportunity to purchase an optional T-shirt for $18 or place an additional donation. We ask you to join us in our efforts to raise money for the NAACP and The Multicultural Health Institute of Sarasota. 100% of proceeds from race registration and t-shirt purchases will be donated.

WHAT IS A VIRTUAL 5K? A race that can be done anywhere in the world! To complete the 5k you can walk, run, swim, bike, or whatever creative way you can think up! You must complete your 5K between the dates of June 15, 2020--June 30, 2020.

HOW DO I UPLOAD MY 5K RESULTS? On the race page, press the "results" tab. Then select "submit virtual results."  Look up your name and add your results. Please use the honor system when uploading your times!

There will be three winners for the categories: fastest time, most money donated, and one randomly selected participant. The prize will be a t-shirt. (If you would like to participate for the prize on the fastest time, please don't forget to upload your race results to this page!)

Please invite your friends to join us, anyone can participate!
