Description
The Event –
The GFWC-Crystal River Woman's Club (CRWC) will host the first Annual Florida Manatee Fest Run 10K/5K/1 Mile Walk on Saturday, January 23, 2016. This event will be managed by DRC Sports, and will be held in beautiful downtown Crystal River at 320 N. Citrus Avenue. The event will feature our newly-developed Three Sisters Springs Trail, Port Paradise and Three Sisters Springs. There will be vending and sponsor booths, as well.
The Cause -
Proceeds primarily benefit our GFWC-Florida President's Project for 2015-2016 (Canine Companions for Independence - Wounded Veterans Initiative), and scholarships for high school seniors and adult women returning to school. Supporting our wounded veterans, and sponsoring service dogs/puppies are both very important to our Club. To date, our club has sponsored 8 service dogs! GFWC-CRWC is also dedicated to serving our community, our state, and our country, and the world through such programs as Honor Flights for WWII veterans; "Welcome Home" receptions for returning local military; Habitat for Humanity; Smile Train; HOBY; Domestic Violence Awareness; Crystal Gem Manor; Heifer Project, and our local libraries.
