The Barefoot Mailman Experience

For 2020, The Barefoot Mailman Classic becomes The Barefoot Mailman Experience--a cost-free "virtual" version of the traditional race.  Commemorate the true story of the Barefoot Mailman, who delivered mail on foot along the beach from Palm Beach to Miami from 1885-1892.  Make your own history where the Barefoot Mailman walked, either barefoot or "shod" (in shoes!), running or walking.  For 2020, there is no cost to participate.  Challenge yourself for 5-kilometers on the sand at Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park (formerly John U. Lloyd State Park) in Dania Beach, where the actual race takes place, or on the beach of your choice.  Race day remains the Sunday before Christmas, December 20th.  Don't forget to bring the kids and invite your out-of-town family, too!

Register as you would for any race at RunSignUp.com.  On December 20, choose your beach location and time of day, start your watch or RaceJoy* on your phone, and go for it!  To complete the 5-kilometer distance, run in one direction for 2.5 kilometers (1.55 miles), then turn around and finish where you began.
