Carmela’s Heart Foundation is honored to present the third annual Love in Action 5K & 10K Run. New this year is the 1K Family Walk—a meaningful and enjoyable way for families to come together and make a difference for children in need.

7:25AM - National Anthem and final race instructions
7:30AM - Gun start For the 5K&10K Run

7:45AM -  Gun start For the 1K Family Walk

8:00AM - Race after party with music, refreshments and vendor exhibition begins.
8:45AM - Awards presentation (approximately)
10:00AM - The music fades until next year!
 

Details

Parking is to the right when you enter the park and is available on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis. Once you are parked, the event is a short walk over a small foot bridge on the North side of the park.

There will be a designated Packet Pickup Area. There is no on-site registration, however, online registration will remain open until 6:55AM. Online registration is mobile device friendly!

The course is a (5k)  3.10 mile route around and over the two hills in the park, For the 10K we do 2 loops. 

Results will be available on-site, however, you are encouraged to sign up to have your results texted to you upon completing your event.

Awards will be offered to the top male and female finishers as well as the top three in each age group. Overall awards are based upon gun time (gun to chip). All other awards (age groups) are based upon chip time (chip to chip).  You must be present to receive the award. 

It is our intention to hold a safe and enjoyable race experience for all participants. Should anything come up that might compromise our ability to fulfill that commitment (severe weather, government restrictions, etc…), we will automatically transfer all in-person registrations to the virtual race.

Participants in the virtual event will have their running kit sent to the valid US-address used during registration within 2 weeks of the in-person event. Please allow for transit time. We ship via the United States Postal Service.

How to get there

Vista View Park is in western Broward County.

From the East: Take 595 West to exit 2&3 towards Hiatus Road. Keep to the left as you exit. Continue to Flamingo Road and make a left (south). In about 1.4 miles, make a right onto Orange Drive then make a right on SW 142nd Avenue. Vista View Park is 0.25 mile down on the left.
From the South: Take I75 North. Exit at Griffin Road and head east for about 0.5 miles. Turn left over Winkopp Bridge and then turn right on Orange Drive then make the first left (on SW 142nd Avenue). Vista View Park is 0.25 mile down on the left.
From the North: Take I75 South and exit at Griffin Road. Head east for about 0.5 miles. Turn left over Winkopp Bridge and then turn right on Orange Drive then make the first left. Vista View Park is 0.25 mile down on the left.

From the West: Take I75 South and exit at Griffin Road. Head east for about 0.5 miles. Turn left over Winkopp Bridge and then turn right on Orange Drive then make the first left. Vista View Park is 0.25 mile down on the left.
Please note: The entrance to the park can get backed up. We are covering the park entrance fee to help reduce the backup, but please plan to arrive early enough to allow for some delays entering the park.
