The Sugar Skull 5k - Virtual Race

The Sugar Skull 5k - Virtual Race can be done anywhere - outside on the roads, at a local track, on your favorite trail, or even on a treadmill.  You will just have to complete the distance, have proof that you did it, and submit your time on May 31, 2020 between 5:00 am - 8:00 pm EST (we will be sending follow up emails on how you will submit your race time).  This gives you a 15 hour window to complete your 5k and submit your time and proof to us.  We will be scoring this event just like a normal 5k (list of categories below).  This is a little different than many other virtual races that give you a month or two to complete the race, as we are having everyone run or walk the event on Sunday May 31.  By having everyone compete/complete on just this day, it gives more of an actual live race feel.  Although we will not be toeing the line, running side by side, or sprinting against the competition to the finishline, this format allows us to be part of a bigger group and compare how we did while earning a bad ass medal and social distancing at the same time.  Results will be posted online as live as you all post them.  You won't know until a little after the clock strikes 8:00 PM on where you finished in the final standings, but that is part of the fun.

All participants will receive an amazingly huge sugar skull finisher medal.  This medal falls right into the Red Pointer Productions wheelhouse and you will not be disappointed!!  Medals will be shipped out by mid June, so please make sure the address you registered with is correct.

Age Group Breakdown per Gender (there are no official awards being sent out, this is for bragging rights and to see where you stack up in you category)

9 & Under, 10 - 14, 15 - 19, 20 - 24, 25 - 29, 30 - 34, 35 - 39, 40 - 44, 45 - 49, 50 - 54, 55 - 59, 60 - 64, 65 - 69, 70 - 74, 75 - 79, 80 - 84, 85 and up

Due to the virtual aspect of this race, all finisher medals will be shipped to your registered address a week or so after the completion of the event.
