Beach Bum Timing's Helping Hands Virtual 5K

                              HELP US SUPPORT CHARLOTTE COUNTY HOMELESS COALITION

 

We may be isolated from each other but not from running and supporting a great cause. Due to COVID-19, the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition is getting an influx of people needing food and shelter. We want to extend our hand to help them during this crisis and hope you will join us.   

This is a FREE event but all are encouraged to DONATE what they can. Our goal is to raise at least $1,000.00 for this wonderful organization.   

How it works:

1. Download the RaceJoy app. Click Here to Download

2. Choose one of the 5 routes we have designed within Englewood, North Port, Port Charlotte, Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda and Venice. Click on the Course Maps tab on the menu to the left. If you prefer to run without RaceJoy, you may run anywhere you choose. Pick the "Run Anywhere" event. Must complete a 5K and use a mobile tracking device, i.e., Garmin, Strava, MapMyRun or other mobile app.

3. Run one of these routes using the RaceJoy app between the dates of Monday April 20th and Sunday April 26th. 

4. On Monday April 27th, Beach Bum Timing will post results and announce winners. 

                                                                           

                                                           AWARDS

Overall Female and Male winners receive a recognition certificate as well as a $25.00 gift card to Running Warehouse. 

Overall Winners in the following categories receive a certificate:

                Masters, Grand Masters, Senior Grand Masters, Veterans and Youth (<17)

Age group winners (male and female) receive recognition certificates, Age groups are: 

                 0-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

Anyone not receiving one of the above certificates receive a finisher's certificate. 

REMEMBER SAFETY FIRST!!!!!! - Things to consider are social distancing, remember to keep 6 feet apart if near others.  Also the possible dangers of running alone, make sure someone knows where you are. They are able to track you if you are running one of our routes with the RaceJoy app.
