Apex Rewind Run 5K

Throw It Back. Run It Forward.

Old Medals. New Memories. A Meaningful Mission.

What if your next race could help celebrate one of the biggest victories in a child's life?

Welcome to the Apex Rewind Run 5K, taking place Saturday, January 30, 2027, at Miromar Outlets in Estero, Florida.

We're bringing back some of our favorite race medals, shirts, and swag from past Apex events for a one-of-a-kind throwback experience. But this year, the Apex Rewind Run has a much bigger purpose.

We're turning yesterday's race memories into tomorrow's celebrations for children at Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida, part of Lee Health.

Every runner and walker who joins us will help support a special mission: creating new commemorative medals for children celebrating major milestones in their medical treatment.

Because sometimes, the most important finish line isn't at a race. It's at the end of a hospital hallway.

Running for a Different Kind of Finish Line

For children undergoing cancer treatment and other serious medical challenges, completing treatment is a milestone worth celebrating. At Golisano Children's Hospital, children finishing chemotherapy have the opportunity to participate in a special bell-ringing ceremony, marking the end of an incredibly difficult chapter in their lives. We want to make those moments even more memorable and give these fighters a medal to remember thier vicotry.

Funds raised through the Apex Rewind Run will be used to purchase specially designed commemorative medals. These medals are intended to be presented to children celebrating the completion of treatment, including pediatric cancer patients participating in their bell-ringing ceremonies. For these children and their families, the medal will represent much more than a finish line. It will symbolize courage, perseverance, strength, and everything they have overcome.

Our goal is simple: give these children something they can hold onto for years to come, reminding them of one of the most important days of their lives.

The Rewind Experience: Yesterday's Swag, Tomorrow's Smiles

We've spent years hosting races throughout Southwest Florida, and along the way we've collected some pretty great stuff. Eahc year we open up the Apex vault in January to run it back.

Instead of allowing leftover race medals, shirts, and giveaways to sit in storage, we're putting them back into the hands of runners and walkers while raising money to create something meaningful for local children.

Participants will have the opportunity to receive items from our collection of past events, including:

• Finisher medals from previous Apex races

• Race shirts and other apparel

• Hats, towels, mugs, and other race merchandise

• Additional surprises from the Apex vault

Rather than producing a new finisher medal just for this race, we're giving our existing medals another opportunity to shine. The money we raise will help us create brand-new medals for children celebrating their own finish lines. It's a fun way to reduce waste, revisit some great race memories, and make a real difference in our Southwest Florida community.

We Rewind to the '80s!

The Apex Rewind Run isn't your typical 5K. We're bringing back the energy, music, and style of the 1980s for a fun, family-friendly morning at Miromar Outlets. Expect your favorite '80s hits, colorful retro outfits, and a relaxed atmosphere where everyone is welcome. Break out the neon shirts, headbands, leg warmers, and Zubaz.
