Description

Come and run or walk with us!

The members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Zeta Rho Omega Chapter in partnership with the AKAdemic Foundation, Incorporated invite you to partner, support and participate with us as we have our inaugural, HBCU for Life: Pink Pearls 5K Virtual Run.  Our nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) educate 50% of African American teachers, 40% of health professionals, and 70% of African-American dentists and physicians.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is an international service organization that was founded on the campus of Howard University, an HBCU in Washington, D.C. in 1908. It is the oldest Greek-letter organization established by African-American college-educated women. Our international membership has nearly 300,000 distinguished women who boast excellent academic records, proven leadership skills, and are involved in the global community through advocacy and service. For over 112 years, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority has dedicated itself to promoting peace and improving the quality of life for citizens locally and around the world.

Zeta Rho Omega Chapter has provided high quality community service in Broward County for 65 years. This past school year, we provided over $32,000 in college scholarships to students throughout Broward County Public Schools.

Our goal for the HBCU For Life: Pink Pearls 5K Virtual Run is to raise $20K or more. This will enable us to continue funding, supporting, and serving the Broward County community by providing deserving students the opportunity to become aware of, and/or attend an HBCU. It is our hope that you will support and assist us in achieving our goal.

AKAdemic Foundation, Incorporated which is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. All donations are tax exempt to the extent mandated by non-profit guidelines.

On behalf of the members of Zeta Rho Omega Chapter and the AKAdemic Foundation, Incorporated, I sincerely thank you in advance for participating and for your contribution.

Thank you.
