Description
Florida Gulf Coast University students in a civic engagement class are organizing a benefit race/walk to support the Frattarelli family. Mike and Rachel Frattarelli's youngest child, Stella, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma about a year ago. Stella is undergoing treatments now. Her family could use financial support for gas, child care and meals at the hospital while Stella has her treatments. FGCU believes that "informed and engaged citizens are essential to the creation of a civil and sustainable society," so we are proud to host this event. The 5K race around Loop Road on FGCU's main campus will be untimed. We welcome runners or walkers of all speeds and fitness levels. We will also host a 1-mile walk at the same event. FGCU students have organized Strides for Stella as an event that will unite and lift up our community in support of the Frattarellis.
