Hearoes for Hearing SuperHearo 5k

Hearoes for Hearing is the philanthropy of the University of Florida’s National Student Speech-Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA). We are a student-led nonprofit that raises awareness and funds to directly support patients at UF Health's Cochlear Implant (CI) Program. We are excited to be bringing back the SuperHearo 5k to celebrate families from the CI Program and grow our community here in Gainesville!

The purpose of Hearoes for Hearing is to raise money for the UF Cochlear Implant Fund to help purchase new test materials and therapy materials in the speech department for habilitation and rehabilitation, audiological tests, and provide loaner equipment for both the children and adult patients. Additionally, we strive to spread awareness about hearing loss throughout the Gainesville community. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the UF Health Cochlear Implant Program.

This year, our goal is to continue to create diverse events and provide a community and support for patients and families. We hope you decide to join our cause in creating an environment that recognizes disparities, raises funds to make resources more accessible, and empowers communities by joining, celebrating, and uplifting them.
