Grab your running shoes and your favorite Fraus and Fraulines and head out to the inaugural WoBtoberfest 5k presented by Gainesville's own Running Tabs.
Organized and directed by one of Gainesville's premier running groups, the race promises to appeal to everyone from serious runners looking to push themselves on a new course to casual joggers looking for a fun way to benefit five great charities. Runners will be chip-timed and the course is a legitimate 3.1 miles, so rest assured, no one will be able to challenge your accomplishments.
The race is just the first part of what promises to be a fun-filled day for runners, beer aficionados, and families. After the race, stick around to enjoy World of Beer's annual Oktoberfest festivities, including: Polka Music, DJ, Oktoberfest games, HUGE children's play area, rockwall, German themed food and treats, and of course-beer.
Then, when the sun goes down, rock out to one of the best Rolling Stones cover bands around, the US Stones.
So tighten those shoe laces, grab your best lederhosen, and head to Town of Tioga on Saturday, Septemember 27th for WoBtoberfest -- benefiting five great charities: Tyler's Hope, Children's Home Society, Haven Hospice, and Puppy Hill Farm Animal Rescue. Show us your best German costume and you could be named the Mayor or First Lady of WOBtoberfest!
