Description

Partnership for Strong Families (PSF) is the lead agency for child welfare services for the 13 North Central Florida counties comprising Judicial Circuits 3 and 8. We are charged with providing a full spectrum of child protection services, from child abuse prevention to intervention and foster care to adoption.  PSF will be having our 9th annual “Superhero 5K Family Fun Run/Walk” on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Westside Park in Gainesville.  All money raised will go toward adoption and recruitment efforts for children awaiting their permanent homes.

 

Children 5 and under: Free

Children ages 6 to 15: $5 per child. Includes a race timing bib for runners and a goodie bag.  Children’s T-shirts are available for an additional $5.

Ages 16 and Up: $20 per participant. Includes a race t-shirt, timing bib for runners, and a goodie bag.

 

Race fees are the same whether you run or walk the 5K.  Race bibs for timing purposes will only be given out to participants who will be running.  Please sign up under the correct category, so we can assure that all runners receive race bibs.

 

Packet pick up with be at Fit2Run on Friday, November 3rd from 4-6:30 pm at Fit2Run in the Oaks Mall.

 

For people registering the day of the race, check-in and registration will begin at 7 a.m., with the race starting at 8:30 a.m.  Refreshments will be available at the finish line for our superheroes who participate and awards will be at 9:30 am!

 

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female runners in each age group based on race results. Prizes will also be awarded to those wearing the most authentic superhero costume, as well as the best superhero family. The ages groups are: 6-10; 11-15; 16-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40 & UP.  In addition, we are encouraging a friendly competition among businesses and groups, by presenting an award (and bragging rights) to the largest team registered for the race.

 

All foster children in licensed foster care through PSF are FREE with a registered Partner Family!  Please contact Tricia Braitsch at patricia.braitsch@pfsf.org to register a foster child in your care.

Also, anyone participating in the race who has been adopted is eligible for a FREE race t-shirt!  Please contact Tricia Braitsch at patricia.braitsch@pfsf.org to register for your free shirt.
