Have you ever wanted to run in the Donna 5k, but just didn’t feel prepared or didn’t have time to train? FIS are offering our employees a free training program for runners of all levels. If you have never walked or run for more than 15 minutes this program is for you. If you a seasoned Marathoner training for Boston, this program is for you. The FIS Desk to 5k/10K program will be offered on the FIS Main Riverside campus with training runs 2 times per week. This low-mileage, injury-free training program is for everyone.
The FIS FIS Desk to 5k/10K program is a 16-week program that will train you for a 5k or 10k while at the same time getting you ready to run the Donna 5k being held on Saturday, February 10th. This is a great way to train with your FIS teammates and foster an environment of teamwork, collaboration, accountability and improved morale throughout the campus all while having fun.
I’ve never run before. Can I really do this? Yes you can! The Galloway program starts with very short distances and over the course of your training, you will build up to the actual distance you will run at a local race (ie., 5k, 10k, half marathon, etc.)
Am I alone on this journey? No! All participants will have a group leader that will help you with your training and motivate you throughout your training program.
