Legacy 5K Walk & Run

Diamond Minds Transformational Leadership Academy and Early Beginnings Academy invite you to the 4th Annual Legacy 5K Walk & Run at the beautiful Bill Baggs State Park.

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park offers the best views of Key Biscayne. This ideal run venue will captivate your imagination and inspire your feet.  Our Earth Day family event begins near the pier and winds through a butterfly garden, nature paths, boat docks, and the Cape Florida Lighthouse. Festive post-race activities begin at 9:00 am offering families and participants an opportunity to explore outdoor adventures including fishing, swimming, kayaking, and beach yoga. Your registration packet includes a finisher medal, refreshments, and access to our Oceanfront Gathering.   

Children under the ages of 2 are free.  All proceeds from the Legacy 5K benefit educational programs for United Community Options which operates programs throughout Miami-Dade County dedicated to ensuring that each child receives a holistic education which nurtures their physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs.

Participants should be in the park by 7:15 am, as the gates will close briefly to allow for the start of the run. Park entry fees are waived for participants.  Once inside follow the signs to the parking lot near the lighthouse entrance and walk toward the pavilions near the pier (D14 & D18).  Registration begins at 6:15 am and the race begins promptly at 7:30 am.  

Packet Pick-Up

There will be 2 days to pick-up packets. One pick-up day is centrally located near the downtown area.  The second pick-up day is in the Miami Gardens area.
