Description

Location: Reiter Park, Longwood, Florida

Time: 8am

The Kindness Matters Walk will be held in person in Florida on Thanksgiving morning and virtually wherever you are for 2023!  All participants are encouraged to register online in advance of the walk.

This year, the Florida walk will be celebrating the life of Katie Monson, Scott Bevis, Padraic McCracken, and Hanif Hakimjee.

How does the virtual walk work?

Starting on 11/10/2023 through 11/23/2023, you can run, walk, roller-blade, kayak, or even push a stroller on your own 5K.  It’s your choice! Post pictures of you/your group as you do your activity, and post to Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag "#KMWalk2023FL" - we would love to see you!  *** If you want to participate in the race/walk challenge (i.e., who walks or runs the most miles), you will need to register for the virtual walk - and of course, you are welcome to walk in person on 11/24 even if you register for the virtual walk ***

Registration is simple - just click the "Sign Up" button to start your registration process.  Register yourself or others in your family/group - and please create or join an existing team if you'd like.  Registration is $10 per person.  Each participant will have the option during the registration process to select an "add-on" - to include a walk t-shirt (this is optional, but you'll want to make sure you get a 2023 KM Walk t-shirt).  The add-on option will only be available until 10/31/2023 for walk t-shirts.

You also have the option to make a donation directly to the KM Legacy Fund at the Orange County Community Foundation.  Another great way to support the KM Legacy Foundation! (this is optional.)

You will see our event sponsors on the screens during registration.  Please help support these companies/groups as they have so generously supported the KM Legacy Foundation.  Thank you, sponsors!

Proceeds from the KM Walk support brain tumor research at a national level, and young adult leadership development opportunities.
