While we could not celebrate National Donate Life Month at Zoo Miami this past April, we cannot let the year go by without banding together in support of the transplant community. So, we are taking this event online and going VIRTUAL!
How does it work? You can walk anywhere (on a treadmill, around your neighborhood or any course of your choice). We will send your race t-shirt and medal, plus you can download a personalized bib, so you’ve got your transplant swag before and after your race.
This virtual event comes with a special challenge: our goal is to walk/run 2,400 miles together! 24-Hours a day, every day, fellow Floridians are added to the transplant waiting list.
How does it work? You can walk (or run) on a treadmill, around your neighborhood or at a course of your choice. When you're done, you can log your miles on your account after every session between August 15th and August 30th. By the end of this challenge our goal is to hit 2,400 miles together!
Let’s race together to raise $24,000 and log 2,400 miles in solidarity of our transplant brothers and sisters. Results

Florida Organ Transplant Association (FOTA) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. It was established in 2002 by Dale Gilbert to support the transplant community in memory of his beloved wife. Thanks to the support of transplant recipients and donor families, it has grown over the years and is quickly becoming a leader in the transplant community. FOTA focuses on patient services, education, and ultimately funding research.
