5/2 In Park Know Before You Go

We're looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at FOTA’s Hybrid 2026 Wild Transplant Adventure Fun Run/Walk. There are a few notes below to make sure your day is hassle-free, and roaring good fun!

• We are a rain or shine event (though hoping for a cool and sunny morning)!
• Arrive at check-in when it opens at 7:30am.  The race presentation begins at 8am.
• Address and directions: 12400 SW 152nd Street, Miami 33177.  When you turn into the zoo, there is a 1-mile stretch of palm-lined driveway.  At the first stop sign (not on the fence, but a stand-alone stop sign where you cannot continue straight), you make a right toward the West Parking area and head all the way down.  You’ll see flood lights and the entrance to our private field on the left-hand side.
• Parking is free.
• Due to increased security at the zoo, your bags will be checked.
• T-shirts will be distributed at check-in.  You get your medal after you cross the finish line!
• We have lite bites and refreshments available pre and post-race.
• Other event amenities include booths, bounce house, lawn games, auction, photo booth and so much more.
• The Dancing Yogi will be onsite from 8:45-9:30 to offer complimentary cool down stretches post-race, so make sure to get back to the event site by 9:30!
• Remember: the race band you'll receive at registration gets you into the park all day long.

5/2 Virtual Know Before You Go

We're looking forward to having you with us virtually tomorrow at FOTA’s Hybrid 2026 Wild Transplant Adventure Fun Run/Walk. There are a few notes below to make sure your day is hassle-free, and good fun!

• We are a rain or shine event.
• We ask that you complete you complete your 2-mile fun run/walk by 10am, so we are all racing at the same time.  Please make sure you are in a safe location (sidewalk, park, in a mall, etc.)
• T-shirts and medals will be mailed to you next week.  We'll send you an email with an update.
• In the interim, we encourage you to post photos of your virtual race on Facebook and tagging FOTA: @florgantransplant.org. Alternatively, you are welcome to send us photos via email at wetzelandassociates@gmail.com, and we'll post your photos on the FOTA page next week!

Fundraising incentives make the event a WIN-WIN!  Individuals will receive cumulative prizes below, based on how much they raise:

$100 Your registration amount is REFUNDED;

$250: 1-Year Family Membership to Zoo Miami;

Florida Organ Transplant Association (FOTA) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization.  It was established in 2002 by Dale Gilbert to support the transplant community in memory of his beloved wife.  Thanks to the support of transplant recipients and donor families, it has grown over the years and is quickly becoming a leader in the transplant community.  FOTA focuses on patient services, education, and ultimately funding research.  We can only accomplish this together--thank you for supporting our mission and the transplant community.
