MIND Your Health Mental Awareness 5K Walk

Join the Women Of Color Empowerment Institute mentees as we host the inaugural MIND Your Health: Mental Health Awareness 5K Walk/Run in an effort to raise awareness about mental health issues in the African American community. According to the Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health, African Americans are 20% more likely to experience serious mental health issues than the general population. African Americans are also more likely to experience certain factors that increase the risk for developing a mental condition such as homelessness and exposure to violence. Help us as we shed light on these issues. We invite you to walk or run with us this year as we take on Mental Illness one stride at a time.
