Every year more than half of Barry students report a deficit between $2,500 and $5,000 in covering their expenses. These might seem like small amounts, but for students who come from homes where family income is less than $50,000, any amount can make the difference between staying at Barry and having to drop out. Your participation in the Nun Run will not only be fun, but it will also help our students continue to move forward with their academic and purposeful pursuits.

Become a Sponsor

Become a volunteer for Barry University's Nun Run. This is your opportunity to join the fun by cheering on our participants and earning service hours.

Volunteers are needed to assist throughout the course at various locations. All volunteers will receive a complementary t-shirt and are welcomed to participate in the after the run activities. We will provide proof of service hours for those students who may need it. Please sign up here to be a Nun Run Volunteer.

Runners packets will be available for pickup from 7:00am-8:15am on race day! Pick up your packet outside of Farrell Hall, on the Campus Mall area. 

The Barry University 5K/8K Nun Run kicks off at 8:30am but participants are encouraged to arrived before 7:30am in advance of the temporary race road closures. Free parking will be available in the South Landon Lot, located on North Miami Avenue.

5k Nun Run Course:

• Southbound lane of NE 2nd Ave. from 111th St. to 115th St
• Westbound at NE 2nd Ave. and 111th St. to the entrance of 111th St. to Barry’s entrance at the Gatehouse. 
• Westbound at NE 2nd Ave. and 115th St. all the way to NW 5th Ave.
• Southbound on NW 5th Ave. to NW 111th St.
• Eastbound on 111th St. to North Miami Ave.
• Northbound on North Miami Ave., from 111th St. to NW 115th St., back Eastbound to NW 1st Ct., then into the university at the Garner gate back to the finish line.    

8k Nun Run Course:

• NE 2nd Ave. main entrance to NE 115th St.
• North Miami Ave. at 115th St.
• NE 2nd Ave. at 115th St. westbound to NW 5th Ave.
• NW 115th St. on NW 2nd Ave. southbound to 111th St.
• North Miami Ave. at 109th St. eastbound to NE 2nd Ave.    
• Southbound from NW 115th St. to NW 103th St. (all the streets in between 111th St. to 103rd St. closed, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110)
• NW 109th St. westbound to NW 2nd Ave.
