Publix Family Fun Day - Crazy Hat Virtual 5K/10K

The Publix Family Fun Day is the third race in the My Favorite Race Events Publix Championship Racing Series.
The Publix Family Fun Day has been changed to a Virtual Only Event!

We’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to cancel ALL 2020 in-person My Favorite Race Events, Races. 
Please know that all of us at MFRE are devastated as well. We had hoped that we would be able to put on events this fall with extra safety precautions. However, we’ve run through many different scenarios, and it has become increasingly obvious we simply cannot offer our events this fall without compromising our runners' safety and the safety of My Favorite Race Events' staff and volunteers and the quality of the races we produce.  The health and safety of our runners, volunteers, partners, and local community are paramount and something we do not take lightly.  
So what is next?
This event will be switched to a Virtual Only event.   You will be able to enter your results on the RunSignUp Race registration site.    You will be able to sign up until September 19th, 2020, and then have 30 days to complete your run and submit your time.
We will still be awarding the awards to our overall winners.  The male and female overall winners will each receive a plaque and free entry into next year's event.
We will also be awarding each age group winner a 50% off coupon toward next year's event.
We will have a packet pick up where you will be able to pick up your packet, including your race shirt, medal, and race bib.
We will be having a Fun Run at packet pickup where, if you would like, you can come prepared to go on a Fun Run.    (This will be on your own).   Publix will be providing bottled water, bananas, and granola bars for after your run!   The Date and location will be announced soon!

The 5th annual Publix Family Fun Day was postponed and then turned into a virtual race.    But it's like no other virtual race you have ever participated in.  

At My Favorite Race Events, we are going to do everything we can to keep you running during these crazy times.

Here is what happens next.      

Your friends that are not signed up still have 2 days to do so.

Every Virtual participant then has until October 21 to post their virtual run times on our RunSignUp registration Site.     The medals and shirts and bibs will be ordered on Monday morning.  The packet Pickup date is TBD.

When they arrive we will have a Packet Pick-Up at the Publix at the Shoppes at Price Crossing on Toledo Blade in North Port.    As part of this event, we will have a Fun Run for anyone who would like to come out and participate.  Publix will be providing bottled water, granola bars, and bananas.

Also at Packet Pick-Up will be awarding the overall winner's awards, all the Masters Awards, and the Age Group Award for the winner of each Age Group based on the times you entered in the results tab on RunSignUp.   If you are one of these winners, your award will be in or with your packet.  A list of all the winners will be available to you at Packet Pick-Up.

You will also receive your Race Shirt, Finisher Medal, and Race Bib as Part of your Packet.

In addition to all of the above, all participants 21 years of age or older will receive two (2) Wooden Coins.   Each of these coins will be good for one (1) domestic draft beer at any of the 3 Bocca Lupo Coal Fired Pizza locations.   This is complements of Bocca Lupo, Gold Coast Eagle Distributing, and My Favorite Race Events.  The coins are good through December 31, 2020.

Parking


Parking for the event will be in front of the Publix Supermarket, 1251 South Toledo Blade Blvd.,  North Port, Florida.   Parking is free.

In our Race Store, you will be able to purchase additional items to make your Virtual Race Day even more memorable.

 

Crazy Hat 50/50 Raffle — $5.00 ea.  We have added a Crazy Hat 50/50 to this event. It is a 50/50 raffle that you enter as often as you like.   On race day we will draw a winner and the winner will receive 1/2 of whatever had been sold!

 

2 Person Kayak Raffle — $5.00 ea.  An awesome 2 person kayak raffle!    Tickets are being sold across all of our races.   The drawing will be held at the Publix Fall Championships at the Cool Today Park, in North Port, FL on November 14,  2020.

 

Get reimbursed up to 100% for an additional $8.99 if you can’t attend this event for several reasons, including covered injury, illness, traffic accidents, and more.

RACE REFUND POLICY

Your entry into this race is considered a Charitable Donation to the Woodland Middle School Band and Florida Compassion Foundation.  You can cancel your registration online within 15 minutes of registering and receive a full refund.  After 15 minutes there are no refunds for any reason!   This race has a NO REFUND POLICY.  By registering, you are accepting and agreeing to this policy.
