Honor Our Heroes 5k Memorial Run

Oldsmar Cares is proud to continue its annual "Honor Our Heroes" 5k Memorial Run this year on Saturday, 24 May 2025. We are proud to continue our collaboration and veteran outreach with VFW Post 12186. Our two distinguished nonprofit organizations consist entirely of volunteers who are working together for a better community. All net proceeds from the event will directly support our efforts to serve residents, families, veterans, and community projects.

This year, alongside a fantastic lineup of sponsors and vendors, we have Tampa Bay Brewing Company (TBBC) and Three Brothers NY Pizza returning to help to expand our afterparty menu! You won't want to miss out.

The Race: The opening ceremonies will begin at 7:00 am near Oldsmar City Hall. The race will start at 7:15 am, and the participants will be led down past the Veterans Memorial Park and along the beautiful waters of upper Tampa Bay. This 5k (3.1 miles) is designed for everyone from competitive runners to casual joggers, pet walkers, and even some pushing their strollers.

The finish line will greet our finishers with beverages and food for everyone, along with a couple of beers provided by TBBC for those 21 years and older.

The Awards! Along with your race shirts and stuffed swag bags, we will also present awards for the overall Male & Female winners. As well as the top 3 finishers in each age bracket. Brackets include ages 9 and under and then every five-year increments until 70 and over.

* Please note:
- It can be challenging to pick up packets on race day. Please take advantage of the early pickup and promotions from TBBC unless you are traveling from out of town.
- There is an opportunity to sign up on the morning of race day. However, we cannot guarantee a full swag bag or any race shirts.

Directions

- RACE DAY. Arrive early and be ready for a good time. Opening ceremonies start at 7:15 am and with a scheduled race start of 7:30 am.

- PARKING. Recommend coming in off Tampa Rd onto Washington Ave. There is an open grass field with parking attendants to help guide vehicles in. Please drive cautiously. Avoid parking on or around State St and City Hall as much of it will be closed to ensure our participants have a safe setup area.

Late registration, vendors, and the Restrooms are all located close to parking, start/finish, and city hall.
