The Milk Run 5K is an annual “off road” 5K race put on by UF/IFAS Extension Orange County. It is one of the only area running events treating participants to an intimate experience with nature. The new course, is set adjacent to the former T.G. Lee Dairy property, featuring a trail running experience around UF/IFAS Orange County Extension campus. This new course will lead you through and past 5 different extension gardens, and the beautifully landscaped pond that inhabits unique wildlife native to Central Florida. The Milk Run 5k has quickly become a Central Florida favorite event. This year we will also offer a 1 Mile Kids' Fun Run for entries aged 4-11 years old. **** Due to the unpredictability of COVID-19 and in the safety of participants, volunteers, faculty and staff the 2022 Milk run 5k will be virtual.****
However; if you still participate your monetary support will directly impact Orange County 4-H Youth Development and other extension programs teaching residents about their personal finances, how to purchase your first home, nutrition education and the importance of physical activity throughout the lifecycle. 4-H is a positive youth development organization that empowers young people to reach their full potential. There are nearly 1,500 Orange County youth engaged in 4-H programs, with activities that include robotics, shooting sports, public speaking, animal science and much more. Proceeds from the Milk Run 5K will help extend the reach of the 4-H and other extension programs by offering youth more scholarships to attend 4-H events, go to college, and to offer education to Orange County residents on the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. Please see below for more information on our two races!
