4) How do i track the distance?
You can use an Apple/ Samsung/ Garmin/ Fitbit or any device that tracks your location and heart rate
You can also just use your phone if you don't have some form of digital watch
We have a fitness club on Strava, click the link to join the team and your time will automatically be received
5) Do I have to run?
No you don't. You can walk, jog, roller skate, leisurely run, or competitively run this race. Whatever makes you comfortable

7) Are awards given?

Once the race is closed we will know who will receive 1st, 2nd, 3rd place medals and they will be mailed

The only rule is to submit an accurate time during June 12-19th
9) I have no plans to run the PJR race competitively, do I have to submit my results?
You can to show your support for the event by submitting your results.

The I.S. Hankins F.A. Johnson Education Foundation, Inc. and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Orlando members are back to host The Phrozen Jewel Run (PJR), which will benefit the Young Men of Distinction (YMOD) mentoring program. Your participation will ensure that this great organization can continue to help young men develop academically, socially, personally, and as leaders.
This PJR race will host a combination of in-person and virtual athletes. For our virtual participants you will have one week (June 12th-19th) to submit your most competitive time, and those times must be submitted prior to the start of the physical in person race.
All participants will receive a t-shirt, medal, and registration bag. Prizes will be given to the top three men and women overall and the top man and woman in each age group. We will provide a virtual warmup, presented by a certified indoor cycle instructor, physical trainer and army veteran.
Runners and walkers of all skill levels are welcomed!
Virtual warm-up video will be available for you to use prior to you running your virtual race

The physical/ in-person Phrozen Jewel 5K/10K is divided into age groups. Custom award ribbons will given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place participants according to age group listed below:
18-29 years old
30-39 years old
40-49 years old
50-59 years old
60-69 years old
70-79 years old
80-89 years old
90+ and your already a winner in our books

Phrozen Jewel Run (PJR) is happy to announce that we have teamed up with, ACE Certified Fitness Instructor and Army veteran Captain Trevin Blair. His goal aligns with ours, which is to provide health and fitness resources that will allow you the client to tap into your most active self. Lieutenant Blair Provides a range of sessions from indoor cycling to full body workouts.
Please check out this complementary free 5 minute dynamic warm-up, as a thank you for considering to join the PJR family. On race day we will provide another 7 minute pre run warm up for our participants.
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free.Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement.
