ABOUT
New this year, SJR State has partnered with the Blue Crab Festival and will start and finish the race downtown at the Main Stage.
The Viking 5K Run is a fun-filled event welcoming runners, health-walkers, families and anyone who seeks to raise their heart rates and support St. Johns River State College's athletic programs. All proceeds are deposited by the SJR State Foundation and administered by the SJR State Athletic Association according to the needs of the athletic department and student-athletes.

ENTRY FEES
Preregistered (deadline August 1) = $25
August 2 - September 4 = $30
Race Day = $35
Children 13 and under (must be accompanied by adult) = $10
SJR State Employees/Students/Alumni = $20
In the event of inclement weather, emergency or a natural disaster, the SJR State Foundation reserves the right to cancel or delay the race. In the event of a cancellation, entry fees will not be refunded.
REGISTRATION/PACKET PICK UP
Viking night and pre-race day packet pick up will be at the Blue Crab Festival, 102 N. 1st St., Palatka, FL 32177, on Friday September 4.
Pre-registration is encouraged.
Registrations will be accepted the morning of the race. Race day registration and race packet pick up will begin at 6:00 a.m. the day of the race. This will be a chip timed race. Runners can pick up their time chip when they check in and get their race day packets.
Please note: Parking in the downtown area will be limited due to Blue Crab Festival activities.
T-SHIRTS
Viking 5K Run T-shirts will be distributed to all participants registered by 8/1/2020. Participants not registered by 8/1 will receive T-shirts based on a first-come, first-served basis.
AWARDS
Overall male and female winner. 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place prizes will be awarded to both male and female runners in the following age groups: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & up.
COURSE
5K USATF Certified Course # Pending
The purpose of the USATF course certification program is to produce road race courses of accurately measured distances. For any road running performance to be accepted as a record or be nationally ranked, it must be run on a USATF-certified course. In addition, the certification program is very important to the average road racer, as well as those of exceptional speed. Most runners like to compare performances run on different courses, and such comparisons are difficult if course distances are not reliable. No one can truly establish a personal best if the course distance is not accurate.
RACE TIMING AND SCORING
The race will be professionally timed and scored by RaceSmith, Inc. The race will be timed using disposable, electronic tags attached to the bib number. Please wear your bib number to the front, pinned at all four corners, visible, and unaltered. Printed results will be posted at the race site and live online during the race at www.RaceSmith.com
