Description
On Sunday, September 13, 2015, Halifax Health - Hospice will celebrate the Spirit of Caregiving with the 14th Annual 5K Run and Walk. This much anticipated event raises funds for the Family Caregiver Program, which provides one-on-one care for patients and entitles caregivers to much needed respite time.
As the first race in the Daytona Running Series, this event brings out a wonderful mixture of the area's top competitive runners, as well as non-competitive runners and families. While competitive runners will be timed for placing and to receive points in the Daytona Running Series, the event also offers an opportunity for non-competitive runners, walkers, families and children to participate through the 5K walk/run and 1/8 mile Kiddie Dash.
Funds raised from the 5K Run & Walk will benefit the Family Caregiver Program which plays an integral role in the health of both the patients and their caregivers. This relief program provides one-on-one care for patients, allowing the family caregivers much needed respite time. In turn, this helps the caregivers so they can help their loved ones through the end-of-life journey.
Top Fundraising Team will Win a Private Party!
BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse is extending a challenge to all community teams that are registered for the 14th Annual Halifax Health - Hospice 5K Run & Walk. The community fundraising team which raises the most funds will receive a Private Party ($500 value buffet) at BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse in Daytona Beach. An internal Halifax Health - Hospice Fundraising Team challenge is being sponsored by Houligan's with a private party being awarded to the top internal fundraising team. Funds for team challenges may be generated by both 5K registrations and donations. Simply form your community or internal fundraising team and be sure all team members have listed their team name when registering. Have fun and good luck
