Description

Babcock Ranch is excited to announce our 2nd Annual Race for the Planet 5K. 

All runners and walkers will receive a custom-designed Race for the Planet shirt, available in youth and adult sizes. Shirt Cut off date is 3/30/24 at 11:59 PM.  You will not be guaranteed a shirt if you register after 3/30/24  

EARLY PACKET PICKUP: Thursday, April 18, 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM and Friday, April 19, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

PACKET PICKUP LOCATION: Babcock Ranch Lifestyle Office. 42911 Lake Babcock Drive, Punta Gorda, FL 33982. 

RACE DAY PARKING:  Free ample parking is available near the starting area.

RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP: 6:45 AM - 7:45 AM. Founders Square Pavilion, 42850 Crescent Loop, Punta Gorda, FL 33982.

RACE DAY REGISTRATION:  6:45 AM - 7:45 AM, cost is $35.00. Credit card, apple pay and checks are acceptable. Please bring your phone if you plan to register race morning. You will register yourself and then be given a race bib. 

RACE START TIME:  8:00 a.m.  Dogs and strollers must start in the back of the runners.

PLEASE WEAR YOUR RACE BIB ON THE FRONT OF YOUR SHIRT SO THAT YOUR RACE NUMBER IS CLEARLY VISIBLE.

Post race food and beverages are provided after the race in the large outdoor theater/pavilion.

The race is chip-timed by Beach Bum Timing.  

Bathrooms and Water Stations will be located at the start and finish areas.  The water stop will be at the halfway mark.  

AWARDS:

1st Place Overall Awards - Male & Female.

1st Place Masters, Grand Masters, Senior Grand Masters, & Vet Grandmasters- Male & Female

In-person awards to the top three M/F in the following age groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. 

Q: Is this a timed race? 
A: Yes the  5K is chip-timed. 

Q: What is the course surface like?
A: The course is on roads, sidewalks, gravel and flat trails. 

Q: Are dogs allowed on the course? 
A: You may run with your dog, but you assume ALL responsibility for your dog. You must maintain proper social distancing and pick up after your pooch. 

Q: Are strollers allowed on the course? 
A: Yes. Be careful on the gravel portion of the course.

Q: Is the course good for spectators? 
A: Yes
