Lillian Grace was born on January 15, 2013, with her parents not knowing if she would make it past her first breathe. Fast forward through 50 days in the NICU, countless lab draws, a dozen medications daily, and numerous hospital stays, Lillian has surpassed all expectations. In October 2017, Lillian's parents, Jamie and Joe, learned Lillian's kidney function had dramatically declined. This brace little girl endured 9 hours of testing on November 16, 2017 for her kidney transplant evaluation. Lillian has since been listed as "inactive" on the regional kidney donor list, meaning she cannot receive from deceased donors, but her parents and family are actively testing for a living donor match. Lillian continues to be monitored for change in function in Gainesville and here in Jacksonville. Her parents started the Hope for Lillian Grace Florida 501c3 to assist in her current and future medical care, as she will have multiple transplants throughout her life.
2016 was the inaugural Hope for Lillian Grace Reindeer Run. What started as approximately 50 people participating quickly turned into 150 people, and dozens of local sponsors. We only hope to see this race grow each year, to see our community, family and friends support Lillian Grace. Please consider participating in this virtual 5k or 1 mile fun run.
Thank you and God bless.
