Description
Join K9s United on Saturday, February 8th, 2020 at the St. Augustine Beach for the K9s United 9K for K9s. This annual event will include the 1 mile fun run (untimed), the classic 5k and our challenging 9k! Both the 5k and 9k will be chip timed with awards for the top runners in each category. All the runs are open to runners and walkers of all levels. Can't make it out on race day, that's okay...we are offering a "NO EXCUSE" Virtual 5k or 9k options, so you can still be part of the fun, earn a T-shirt and medal, all the while supporting a great cause.
REMINDER: Since our race is to benefit Law Enforcement K9s, we only allow service dogs to come. There will be several there from surrounding agencies. We want our K9s to have the freedom to participate in the run as well as the K9 demonstration afterwards.
In addition to the race there will be amazing post-race activities for the whole family including kids arts and crafts, a K-9 photo booth to get your picture taken with your favorite K9 Hero, and everyone’s favorite, a K-9 demonstration that will be bigger and better than ever.

Runner Amenities & Activities
SHIRTS & DOG BANDANA
All runners registered by Jan 26th, 2020 are guaranteed to receive a t-shirt of their requested size OR a K9s United branded dog bandana. All runners registering the last two weeks of the race will receive a dog bandana in place of a T-shirt as supplies permit.
RACE DAY ACTIVITIES
In addition to the race, there will be tons of activities for all ages.
- New K9 Photo Booth where you and your family can get your picture taken with your favorite K9 Hero
- Vendors showcasing their products and services to you
- Energizing music for our runners
- My Gym will be donating services for kids activities
- Home Depot will be providing building activities for the kids
- There will be K9 demonstrations from our area K9 Units that will be bigger and better then ever

5km/9km Race Awards
OVERALL AWARDS
Overall Awards will be presented as follows and will include gift cards at local merchants and pint glasses to the winners:
Men - 1st Place, ($100 Gift Card), 2nd Place ($50 Gift Card), 3rd Place ($25 Gift Card)
Women - 1st Place, ($100 Gift Card), 2nd Place ($50 Gift Card), 3rd Place ($25 Gift Card)
MASTERS (Over 40)
Masters Awards will be presented to the top finishers 40 years or older as follows and will include gift cards and pint glasses to the winners:
Men - 1st Place ($50 Gift Card)
Women - 1st Place ($50 Gift Card)
AGE GROUPS - 5 YEAR INTERVALS
Age group awards, pint glasses, will be presented to the top three men and the top three women in the following age groups:
0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 Plus
Runners will only receive one award: overall, masters, or an age group award. Placements for awards are based on gun time, not chip time unless otherwise noted. The 1 Mile Fun Run will not have any awards

Virtual Race/Walk
The Virtual Race/Walk can take place anytime between the day you register and Dec 1st. We will do our best to get your packet out to you as close to the race date as possible. We want to encourage you to take a selfie after you complete your 5k or 1 mile walk and post it to our Facebook page.

EARLY PACKET PICKUP

DAY OF RACE PACKET PICKUP
All participants will pickup their packets at the race location on race day during the times listed on the Event Schedule.
Chip Timing
The 9km and 5km races will be chip timed using a bib chip system. Chips will be distributed at the packet pickup. Chips will NOT have to be returned at the conclusion of the race at the finish line.

1 Mile Fun Run
The one mile course consists of an out-and-back starting and finishing under the finish arch.
Water Stations
The 5K will have a water station on the beach, at Mile 1.25. Runners will pass this water station 2 times.
The 9K will have a water station at Kilometer Marker 1.5. The next water station will be at Kilometer 3.5, which runners pass by again at kilometer 6.25
Race Information
Race times and dates are subject to change without notice at any time for any reason. In the event the race time or date is changed or if the race is cancelled, for any reason, there will not be any refunds under any circumstances. In the event of bad weather every effort will be made to conduct the race, however it may be moved to an alernate date, time, or cancelled within hours of the starting time. Please be sure to check the PRS Race Timing website and Facebook page for updates prior to departing to the race for any last minute changes or instructions.
