Description
2LT Justin Sisson, an alumnus of the FSU ROTC program, earned the George C. Marshall Award as the program’s top cadet in 2010 and was a member of the FSU Ranger Challenge Team. Following his 2012 graduation, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army and assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, based at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Justin deployed to Afghanistan in 2013 and was leading his platoon and providing security for Afghans when he was killed by a suicide bomber June 3rd of that year.
Proceeds from the race benefit the Justin Sisson Outstanding Cadet Scholarship Fund, founded by the Sisson family, which helps FSU ROTC Cadets and student veterans who embody Justin’s to dedication to family, country and duty, complete their education and work in service of our nation.
Runners and walkers are welcome, and a virtual option is offered for those who wish to remember Justin but cannot be in Tallahassee on race day.
