Join Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez for the Race for Our Heroes 5K on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. EST at Tom Brown Park.
Start and Finish Line Activities will take place at the Lake Leon Playground Pavilion in Tom Brown Park (off Conner Boulevard). Bring the family and your four-legged friends to run, walk or ruck with us and help honor Florida's military Veterans, first responders and their K-9s!

Race Day Check In
Participants can check in and receive their tshirt (if applicable) on race day beginning at 7:00 am. at the Lake Leon Pavilion area in Tom Brown Park. There is no advance packet pickup.
The Lake Leon Pavilion area is located in Tom Brown Park off Conner Boulevard. There is limited parking in the lot by the playground, and additional parking by the Tom Brown dog park, which is a short walk to the start line near the Lake Leon pavilion.
Challenge Coins will be awarded to the top three male/female runners, walkers, ruckers and K-9s.
Proceeds from the race will benefit the Florida Veterans Foundation, which serves Florida Veterans and their families through crisis care, pension aid and attendance support, and other services to help Veterans in need. Learn more at helpflvets.org.

Race Course
The Race for Heroes 5K begins Saturday, February 24, at 8:00 a.m. Runners, walkers, ruckers and their K-9s are encouraged to participate in this family-friendly event!
Runners, walkers and ruckers will start at the Lake Leon playground/pavilion area and enjoy and out and back race that takes you on the paved Goose Pond Trail, first along Conner Boulevard with a return at the pedestrian bridge, to then head north to Weems Road with a return to the finish back at the Lake Leon pavilion area.
