Let's get together for a great cause! Gather your teams and Let's Beat Ovarian Cancer together!!! Beer & Refreshments will be provided after the race. All participants will receive a Finisher's Medal and Performance T-shirt. Race will be Chip-Timed for those runners who likes to keep track of their progress or for those competitors out there (Walking 5K participants may select to be chip-timed). 1st Place Overall Trophies and Age Group Awards. Certified 5K & 1 Mile Courses.

Run For Purpose, Inc is fundraising to spread the message of ovarian cancer awareness. Benefiting Celma Mastry Ovarian Cancer Foundation (CMOCF) to help the local community with learning about early detection tests, prevention, educating the community, financial assistance to patients in need, and research..

First Place Trophies - First Place Overall Male and Female trophies

Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers in age categories 2 deep (1st & 2nd places):

up to age 12
ages 13-19
ages 20-29
ages 30-39
ages 40-49
ages 50-59
ages 60-69
ages 70+

Refreshments - Food, snacks, and drinks will be provided by local sponsors.

Beer - After the 5k and 1 mile walk, enjoy cold beer. Must be 21 years old and have proper government issued ID

Certified 5K & 1 miles course - Al Lopez Park is a beautiful park with a certified 5K course. You'll enjoy the the nice scenery and ponds as you run or walk.

Virtual 5K - Not in the Tampa area on April 28th, you may STILL participate. Participants will be mailed a performance t-shirt and a medal right after the 5K.

Strollers Welcome - We encourage family participation. Bring the entire family.

This event is dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives to this disease, and to the survivors of ovarian cancer.

We are in need of Volunteers for Friday, April 27, 2018 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM and Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 6:30 AM to 11:00 AM.

-Friday, April 27th: for set-up of event (tents/tables/fences) from 5 PM - 7 PM.

-Saturday, April 28th: working the event

BENEFIT

Run For Purpose 2nd Annual Let's Beat Ovarian Cancer Run/Walk will benefit Celma Mastry Ovarian Cancer Foundation (CMOCF). CMOCF educates the community about ovarian cancer, assist in early detection test and prevention, helps with financial assistance to patients in need, and sponsor research. 

Run For Purpose, Inc.(RFP) is a not-for-profit charitable organization 501c3 founded in October 2016. RFP is working towards providing tools, information and resources, to give support to cancer patients through a convenient online resource center. Resources such as finding transportation to/from doctors/chemo appointments, financial assistance, and/or help with everyday chores like cooking, cleaning and food shopping. Our goal is to connect cancer patients to their needs in one convenient location. This will help the individual, their friends, and love ones to concentrate on what's more important...Getting Well and Giving/Getting Support!!

WEATHER POLICY

Since this event is outside, we are under the mercy of the weather. This event is Rain or Shine. However, in Severe Weather conditions like thunder storms, lightning, flooding, etc., there may be a delay in the start time, rescheduling, or possible cancellation.

In the event of cancellations, Run For Purpose, Inc. has the right to turn the 5K & 1 Mile into a Virtual 5K & 1 Mile. However, our first priority will be to reschedule the event.
