We're doing it again! The Tampa Pizza 5k Run was an incredibly fun and delicious event that crowned the first place finishers! John Rubida and Nicole Miranda are the current Pizza King and Queen. Who's going take the title on April 6th, 2019??

This event is presented by New York New York Pizza, a locally owned pizzeria with several sites in the Tampa area! Exceptional tasting New York style pizza, these guys are delivering Tampa's very best pies to this incredibly fun event!

Here's how it works:

Every runner will consume TWO slices of pizza, but NOT all at once. You'll eat one slice 5 minutes before the start time, and consume your second slice at the "pizza station", about half-way through the course.

The first runner to cross the finish line will be crowned "The Pizza King (or Queen)" (<---- they get a special award!).

Why? Because everyone will run for pizza.

This course utilizes Gadsden Park loops. Gadsden Park is located in South Tampa, at the very end of MacDill Ave (heading towards the MacDill AFB).

What do I get?

Every finisher will receive a medal, an opportunity to interact with local sponsors, and an epic great time.

A custom pizza medal (image to be posted at a later date, but believe me - you'll like the medal).
Pizza King and Queen ceremony directly after the race.
Free access to race photos.
Pizza is included with your registration!
Run for a good cause. This event supports local small businesses.

What's Allowed?

Strollers and wheelchairs are allowed on this course, but participants MUST stay to the right of the path to allow for passers.
Service animals.
Headphones are authorized, but we ask that you keep to a volume that allows you to hear race and park officials.

What's NOT Allowed?

Pets (except certified service animals).
Double-wide (or wider) strollers. At some points on the course, the path isn't wide enough for three adults.
Skateboards, bicycles, tricycles, skates, etc...
Bandits. If you're not wearing a bib at the finish line, you won't get a medal!

***For obvious reasons, this event is not certified. Runners WILL NOT receive a certified time. Bibs will not have chips on them. This is a FUN RUN!***

Allergy and Dietary Restrictions.

As much as we'd like, we CANNOT accomodate for allergy or dietary restrictions such as gluten-free pizza. All of the pizza and food will contain cheese and gluten. At this time, we cannot make special accomodations for individual runners and spectators.

New York New York Pizzeria is a local Tampa-based restaurant with top-notch pizza pies, and they're promising nothing less than a fantastic event with great tasting pizza.

They have six locations in the Tampa Bay area including Ybor City, Hyde Park, Riverview, and others. So, if you want to get a taste of what's to come, go check them out online!

This course will utilize the Gadsden Park loops. A map of the course will be provided soon.

Parking

There is plenty of parking at Gadsden park, but due to the popularity of this event, we recommend you carpool with other registered runners.

Weather

This is a rain or shine event. We don't anticipate a drastic change in temperature. It is, after-all, the "Sunshine State". However, in the unusual circumstance that this event is cancelled due to extreme weather (hurricane or heavy unrelenting downpour), there will be NO REFUND!

Don't worry - the pizza will be covered under canopies!

In the event of lightening in the area, we will postpone the event by an hour, possibly longer, or until the "all-clear" is given by park and race officials.

Military Discount Available

For 2019, we've increased the discount for military service members and veterans from 15% to 20%. We support the U.S. Armed Forces, and we want to give back.

If you're a military service member, reservist, or a veteran of the U.S. military, you get a 20% discount on your registration. To qualify for this discount, you'll be required to show one of the following forms of identification to the volunteers at the registration tent. Without these documents, you will be banned from future NeoEndurance races.

Military CAC ID (must not say "Civilian" or "Contractor")
Retiree ID Card
Veteran Affairs ID Card
Driver's License with "V" symbol.
